When to seek care
Children may not always have the words to describe how they feel after a collision. Early support helps families understand changes, identify the right care, and build a recovery plan before daily life is affected.
Treatment Options
The right treatment depends on your child’s needs and clinical assessment. Eligible ICBC customers may access pre-approved counselling or psychology treatment during the first 12 weeks after a crash.

Expert Insight
Children can respond to a collision in many ways, including changes in sleep, mood, behaviour, play, or confidence in the car. Family-centred support helps parents understand these changes and gives children a safe, age-appropriate path forward.
